More Than 15K Students’ Homes Gifted Free Wi-Fi For Online Learning

We just talked about funny stories from teachers and parents with online learning yesterday, but having no Wi-Fi during a pandemic is not a good thing.

T-Mobile’s Project 10Million is giving five years of free Internet connection to more than 15-thousand students’ homes across the country. Their goal is to eventually get free Wi-Fi to 10-million students’ households in the U.S. They’re starting with five school districts in Pennsylvania; Mississippi; Maryland; New Mexico and Indiana, to help close the digital divide.

"It means a lot to the community--to narrow the gap, for students to have the opportunity to have internet access at home. It's amazing," says Shawn Henderson, principal of Riley High School in South Bend. "We're blessed, thank you.”

While she is reading with her students with one in particular has a great sense of humor about the instruction. The student likes to wear a mask while they read.
