W.A.T.C.H. warns that the oversized fists “enable 3-year-olds to ‘be incredible like The Hulk’” and that “no warnings or cautions are provided” on the packaging. 

N-Force Vendetta Double Sword

Manufacturer: Hasbro Age recommendation: 8 and up

When this toy’s two swords are combined, it creates a 4½-foot “Megablade” that “has the potential to cause facial or other impact injuries.” 

Playful xylophone

Manufacturer: P’Kolino Age recommendation: 12 months and up

According to W.A.T.C.H., “babies as young as 12 months old are encouraged to use a supplied slender, wooden dowel as a drumstick,” which could be “mouthed and occlude a child’s airway.” 

Water balloon launcher

Manufacturer: Water Sports, LLC Age recommendation: 8-15 months (online); Ages 16 and up (packaging)

This launcher can shoot water balloons at “high speeds of up to 75 mph,” and was marketed online “by at least one online retailer for babies as young as 8 months old.”

 Bongo Ball

Manufacturer: Toys R Us Inc. Age recommendation: 3 and up

Children as young as three are encouraged to climb into this “colorful inflatable ball,” in order to “’Bounce, Spin, Roll, Tumble!’” The box also portrays the children playing unsupervised, and the toy indicates that adult supervision is only recommended. 

Dart Zone Quick Fire 12 dart gun

Manufacturer: Prime Time Toys Ltd. Age recommendation: 7 months—5 years (online); Ages 6 and up (packaging)

Although the packaging of this product recommends that children under 6 should not use this product, “it was marketed online for babies as young as 7 months old.” The gun, which can fire six darts “in seconds,” can shoot with enough force to potentially cause eye injuries. 

Magnetic fishing game

Manufacturer: Kole Imports Age recommendation: 16 months and up (online); Not for children under 3

This toy’s “brightly colored plastic lure,” which is marketed online to be appropriate for 16-month-olds, can pose a “serious potential choking hazard for oral-age children.”

 Explore & Learn Helicopter

Manufacturer: V Tech Age recommendation: 12-36 months

Strings on toys for the crib have an industry standard of having to be less than 12 inches in length, but “manufacturers are still permitted to market ‘pull toys’” such as this one, which has a cord “measuring approximately 24 inches.” As the toy is intended for babies, it is a “prime candidate for crib and playpen injuries.” 

Power Rangers Super Samurai Shogun Helmet

Manufacturer: Bandai Age recommendation: 4 and up

Children are encouraged to “become a Power Ranger” by donning this helmet, which includes an attachable “‘crown’ with pointed, rigid plastic tips” that could cause “puncture wound injuries.” 

Spinner Shark 4-wheel kneeboard

Manufacturer: FuzionNextsport Age recommendation: 8 and up

Warnings on this toy’s packaging insert say “Kneeboard riding can be a hazardous activity” and claim there is potential to “get into dangerous situations and/or lose control and/or fall off” while riding it.
